This Privacy Policy applies to the Wetland Delineation Training mobile application and progressive web app. The app is listed on Google Play under WGI Wetland Training and is provided and operated by Whitenton Group.
The app provides course information, an interactive ArcGIS map, course documents hosted through Egnyte, and an end-of-course ArcGIS survey. Whitenton Group does not sell personal information, use the app for behavioral advertising, access Apple's advertising identifier, or track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Information the app accesses or processes
Location information
The app requests approximate and precise location permission so the interactive ArcGIS map can show your position when you choose to use location-based map features. Location access occurs only after you grant permission. Whitenton Group does not intentionally store or receive your device location through the app. Location information may be processed by Esri or ArcGIS when the map is used.
Information you submit
If you complete the end-of-course survey, contact Whitenton Group, request support, or submit a deletion request, you may provide information such as your name, email address, survey responses, and the contents of your message. Survey information is submitted through ArcGIS and is used for course administration, feedback, and support.
Documents and downloads
Course documents are provided through Egnyte. When you choose to download a document, the file is saved to your device using its normal download functionality. The app does not access unrelated files stored on your device.
Technical information
Whitenton Group's hosting provider and the external services opened through the app may automatically process technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, operating system, request timestamps, and service logs to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve their services.
How information is used
- Provide the training app, map, documents, downloads, and survey features.
- Display your position on the map when you request that feature.
- Administer training, evaluate course feedback, and respond to support requests.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems, and comply with law.
Service providers and sharing
The app uses service providers that may process information when you use their features:
- Esri and ArcGIS provide the interactive map and end-of-course survey. Review the Esri Privacy Statement.
- Egnyte provides access to course documents and downloads. Review the Egnyte Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the progressive web app and public policy pages.
Whitenton Group may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users and services, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. Whitenton Group does not sell personal information.
Security
The app and its public pages use encrypted HTTPS connections. Whitenton Group and its service providers use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.
Retention and deletion
Whitenton Group retains personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for training administration, support, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and recordkeeping. Retention periods for information processed by external providers are governed by their policies and Whitenton Group's arrangements with them.
You may request deletion of eligible app-related personal information using the Account and Data Deletion page. Some information may be retained when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, or recordkeeping obligations.
Your choices
- You may deny or revoke location permission in your device settings.
- You may choose not to submit the survey or other optional information.
- You may delete downloaded course documents using your device's file controls.
- You may contact Whitenton Group to request access, correction, or deletion.
Children's privacy
The app is intended for professional training participants and is not directed to children under 13. Whitenton Group does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app.
Changes to this policy
Whitenton Group may update this Privacy Policy as the app or its data practices change. The updated policy will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
